The Most Awaited Video Game Releases for October 2017


Time to ready your wallets…‘tis the season of video game releases! This month will be an exciting one for gamers as some of the year’s biggest games are scheduled for release. Here are some highly anticipated titles that you should look out for:

October 3 – Forza Motorsport 7 (PC and Xbox One)

The 7th installment to the Forza Motorsport series is about to be released exclusively for Microsoft Windows and Xbox. With stunning visuals and slick new cars to choose from, the Forza 7 is one beautiful racing game that’s worth checking out.

October 5 – Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen (PS4 and Xbox One)


Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is an action RPG developed by Capcom. It is said to be one of the best action RPG’s of the decade, successfully combining elements of JRPG and WRPG into an exciting adventure. Its large open world, class system, and hack and slash combat are all familiar mechanics that you’ll encounter with this game. It was originally released in Japan back in 2012 and its Western PS4/Xbox One port is finally coming soon.

October 6 – Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions (Nintendo 3DS)

A remake of the hit game Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga from 2003 with enhanced graphics and additional light effects. The game also adds an additional storyline, Minion Quest, where you’ll be able to play as Captain Goomba in his quest to help Bowser get through difficult times.

October 10 – Middle-earth: Shadow of War (PS4, PC, and Xbox One)

The sequel to Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is finally here, following the story of Talion who is still infused with the spirit of the elf-lord Celebrimdor. Shadow of War includes a multiplayer mode (“Social Conquest mode”) in which you can invade other players’ fortresses and conquer them.

October 13 – The Evil Within 2 (PS4, PC, and Xbox One)

The Evil Within 2 is a third-person survival horror that puts you into the perspective of detective Sebastian Castellanos, who must descend into the mysterious world of Union in search of his missing daughter Lily. On his journey there, he is forced to confront his personal fears and past traumas.

October 17 – Gran Turismo Sport (PS4)

The first ever Gran Turismo game to arrive to the PS4. Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi refers to the game as the first in the new era of Gran Turismo games. Just like the previous games, Gran Turismo Sport will feature three game modes: Campaign, Arcade, and Sports Mode. Unfortunately, the game won’t have dynamic day and night modes, but Porsche vehicles will be featured for the first time in the series.

October 24 – Destiny 2 (PC)

After their series of successful beta testing last August, Destiny 2 seems to deliver just as what fans had hoped. The PC version will be the first non-Blizzard game to use the launcher.

October 26 – Assassin’s Creed: Origins (PS4, PC, and Xbox One)

The new installment to the Assassin’s Creed series takes place in Egypt, way past the time periods explored in the previous games. Made with stunning graphics, the new vast open world has a lot of monumental structures you can scale and climb at your will. If you’ve got extra money to spend, perhaps you can check out the Collector’s Edition which will sell for $800.
